How to Open ISO Image Files with VMware Workstation

An ISO (or .iso) file is an image file format defined by the International Organization for Standardization or ISO. It is created in a similar manner as burning files into a CD/DVD disc except that you are only saving the files as an image in ISO format and no actual writing to disc. Almost all applications you use to burn CD/DVD can create an ISO image file like Nero. Once created, you can use mounting tools to create a virtual drive that can read the ISO image file. However, VMware Workstation and WMware Server have built-in feature to mount a virtual CD/DVD drive to let you run an ISO image file as if you inserted a disc into a CD/DVD drive.
